Taylor Thompson’s 2-run single broke a 1-1 deadlock in the seventh to lift the Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team past the host No. 6-ranked Green Bulldogs 3-1 Monday evening at Green High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-11 on the season.

Louisville Varsity Leopards snatched the lead late in their 3-1 victory over Green Varsity Bulldogs on Monday. The game was tied at one in the top of the seventh when Taylor Thompson singled, scoring two runs.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Louisville Varsity Leopards pitchers struck out eight, while Green Varsity Bulldogs sat down eight.

Hayden Hart doubled to center field, which helped Green Varsity Bulldogs tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.

West Main Vet Clinic AdKatelynn Miller earned the win for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. Annie Liszewski stepped in the circle first for Green Varsity Bulldogs. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two.

Thompson led Louisville Varsity Leopards with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Thompson, Kaitlin Twinem, Miller, and Leah Claugus each collected one hit for Louisville Varsity Leopards.

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdKatie Dean, Ella Rybarczyk, and Hart each collected one hit for Green Varsity Bulldogs. Hart went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.

Louisville Varsity Leopards will travel to Conotton Valley Varsity Rockets for their next game on Tuesday.

Hayden Kerr drove in four runs on three hits to lead Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards past Green 12-0 on Monday. Kerr hit a home run to center field in the fourth scoring two, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the fifth scoring one.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Lyla Kandel singled, scoring one run, Peyton Dillon singled, scoring two runs, Makenna Haugen grounded out, scoring one run, and Kerr singled, scoring one run.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning on three hits. Haugen singled, scoring one run, and Kerr homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Kylin Thorn earned the win for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. The pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. A Lampe took the loss for Green. The starter went three and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking one.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards amassed 12 hits in the game. Payton Hamilton and Ella Spring each collected multiple hits for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. Hamilton stole two bases.
