Louisville Falls on the Road at Boardman – Boys Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the host Boardman Spartans 59-54 Tuesday Night at Boardman High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 7-6 on the year.
Chris Libertore scored a team-high 17 points and Jared Mathie also poured in 15 points & had 5 steals to lead the Leopards. Both players hit 3 three-pointers during the contest as Louisville hit home 8 triples as a team. Brody Hahn also added 9 points, grabbed a team-high 6 rebounds, and tallied 3 steals.
The Spartans led at the end of every quarter. They took a 32-25 lead into the half and remained ahead 45-40 heading into the fourth. The two teams played even in the final period and the Leopards fell by 5 in the end.

Boardman was led by Holden Lipke who made 2 three-pointers and poured in a game-high 18 points. Che Trevena also scored 13 points and both Sebastian Heinonen & Travis Koontz added 8. The Spartans are now 10-2 on the season.
With the loss, Louisville has now dropped 6 out of their last 7 meetings against Boardman. The Leopards trailed the all-time series to the Spartans 7-16. Louisville is now 1-5 this season against a tough non-league schedule.
