Lady Leopards Pound Falcons 11-0 in Season Opener – Softball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team blanked the host Austintown Fitch Falcons in their season opener Monday Evening at AFHS.

Louisville Leopards Light Blue Hoodie Established 1924 - Beatty's Sports Fall 2017Sarah Cantley pitched a complete game 2-hit shutout in striking out 8 to lead the Lady Leopards. 

Shae Thomas and Lexi Zavarelle each batted 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs to lead the Louisville offense. Thomas hit a 2-out, 2-run homer in the first inning to start off the scoring and later singled home Sydney McKeever in the fifth. Zavarelle also cracked a 2-run double as part of the Leopards explosive 5-run sixth inning.

Rylee Squire also had a pair of hits and scored twice. Lauren Bennett drove in a run for LHS in the seventh as well.

With the victory, the Leopards are now 2-1 against the Falcons all-time which includes a 1-1 mark in games played at Fitch.
