Lohmeyer Wins Kicking Contest, West Defeats East

EAST-WEST VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS:

West 20, East 12

The Leopards all-stars made there presence felt early and often at Fawcett Stadium Saturday night.  Michael Schooley pounced on a fumble in the first quarter to give the East squad the first break of the game and wide receiver Jeremy White officially had 2 catches for 23 yards in the game.

Zac Whaley and Mitch Sluss swarmed on defense and Walter Stenroos blocked for what turned out to be a very effective running game by the East side.  John Taggart was also elected to play in Saturday’s classic, but was unable to.

Although no Leopards scored, they did bring Louisville football to the East-West All-Star game.  The seven Leopards players will be missed and Leopard Nation would like to personally congratulate them on great careers at LHS!

KICKING CONTEST

Louisville kicker Jaron Lohmeyer made all of his kicks including a 45-yard field goal that won him the East-West kicking contest at halftime of the East-West All-Star game.  After successfully booting the 45-yarder through the uprights, Lohmeyer watched as Lake kicker Matthew Gallegly missed both of his attempts at the same distance.  Both kickers hit 50-yard field goals in the semifinals on Tuesday, but it was Lohmeyer who received a trophy before suiting back up as the kicker for the East.
