Leopards Swimmers Compete in Tough District Meet
The three qualifying Leopards swimmers and the Boys 400 Freestyle relay team competed in a tough Northeast District Meet this weekend at Cleveland State University.
Matt Campbell finished 18th in the 50 Freestyle and 22nd in the 100 Freestyle. He was also involved in the 400 Freestyle Relay team that lowered their time to 3:45.93, but did not place. Jake Cummings, Matt Walters, and Caleb Walters were the other members of that relay team.
Stephanie Brookens still has an outside chance of qualifying for state after she placed 11th with a time of 54.61 in the 100 freestyle. She will find out tomorrow when the OHSAA releases its list of state qualifiers. Brookens also placed 19th in the 50 Freestyle.
Finally, Stephanie Horton took 47th in the 200 IM and 20th in the 100 Breastroke to close her season. Also, please note that Horton was delayed when the fire marshal stopped the meet while she was on the blocks ready to swim for the 200 IM.
If this is the final meet of the year, it has been one great season for the Louisville Leopards Swim Team that also has a promising future.
