Leopards Drop Sixth Straight After 57-41 Loss to Alliance
Alliance 57, Louisville 41
J.J. Kukura dropped in 28 points to lead the Alliance Aviators past the host Louisville Leopards 57-41 Tuesday night. Blake Hoover led Louisville with 13 points, while Joe Crank tallied 9 and Alex Hollifield added 7 to lead the Leopards.
The Aviators never trailed in the contest and used a 22-2 run to take command of the game. Hoover’s jumper in the lane midway through the second quarter was the only Louisville points for the entire period. The Aviators ended the first half on a 12-0 run punctuated by Kukura’s NBA range three-ball in the waning seconds. Kukura would hit 3 of Alliance’s 6 three-pointers on the evening.
Louisville hit 5 three-pointers as a team in an attempt to counter, 3 of which came from Crank and accounted for all his points. Hoover posted 9 points in the second half as the Leopards outscored the Aviators 30-27 over the final sixteen minutes.
However, the damage had been done and Louisville dropped to 3-11 overall and 1-8 in the NBC. The Leopards have now lost 6 straight games and have lost the past 4 meetings with the Aviators overall. Louisville will look to get back on track when they travel to Canton South on Friday.
