Late Goal Helps Boys Soccer Knot Lake 1-1
Louisville 1, Lake 1
The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team knotted the Lake Blue Streaks 1-1 Saturday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the tie, Louisville is now 4-2-2 at the midway point of the regular season.
Alex Stefanik netted home the tying goal with 14:41 to play and the Leopards defense did the rest to preserve the tie. Bailey Adams recorded the assist on the play as he delivered a beautiful pass into the center of the box. Stefanik headed it once and gained control. He then booted it over the Blue Streaks Goalie and into the net for the score.
On defense, Jarrett Zwick registered 15 saves in goal to keep Louisville in the contest. Defenders Korey Bowen, Jordan Davis, Matt Perez, Micah Storlie, Derek Zeller, and others were also relentless in keeping Lake out of the net.
The Blue Streaks only goal came when Austin Coldsnow scored via a pass from Mitch Gallegly. That score gave Lake a 1-0 cushion with 31:57 left in the game.
The Blue Streaks out-shot the Leopards 17-7 for the game and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Yet Louisville still managed to force their second straight 1-1 tie.
