Louisville Varsity Leopards Rally Defeats Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity)

Louisville Varsity Leopards rallied to best Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity) 8-7 on Thursday. Louisville Varsity Leopards trailed by as many as four runs during the game.
Despite falling down by four runs in the fourth inning, Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity) tried to fight back. Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity) closed the gap by scoring on a single and a single.
Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity) got on the board in the top of the first inning after Caleb Shelly doubled, scoring one run, Brayden Myers laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
Louisville Varsity Leopards flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring seven runs on three hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a sacrifice fly by Zander Triplett that drove in three.
Brock Leghart earned the win for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The starter surrendered five hits and five runs (three earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one. Nathan Bryant took the loss for Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity). The starter went three and one-third innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on three hits, striking out five and walking six. Caleb Mayle collected the save. Caden Kortis pitched one and two-thirds innings of zero-run ball for Louisville Varsity Leopards in relief. The hurler gave up one hit, striking out none and walking one.
Leghart, Jake Beard, Luke Seaman, Cooper Rice, and Tate Aljancic each collected one hit for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Leghart, Seaman, and Triplett each drove in one run for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Triplett and Rice led the team with two bases on balls each. Rice stole four bases. Louisville Varsity Leopards ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.
Shelly provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity) with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 3-for-4 on the day. Colton Smilek collected two hits for Lake Center Christian Tigers (Varsity) in three at bats.
Louisville Varsity Leopards welcome New Philadelphia on Saturday for their next game.
