Mayle Scores Twice to Give Leopards 2-0 Halftime Lead
Louisville grabbed the lead in the opening half behind a pair of goals from Mayle.
Drew Lindner helped create the first scoring opportunity when he found Mayle for the opening goal with 30:34 remaining. Mayle finished the chance to put the Leopards ahead 1-0.
Mayle struck again exactly seven minutes later. Louisville was awarded a penalty kick, and Mayle converted from the spot with 23:34 left in the half to double the Leopard advantage to 2-0.
Louisville carried that two-goal lead into halftime before quickly adding to it after the break.
Lindner Also Scores Twice as Louisville Pulls Away
The Leopards extended their lead less than 10 minutes into the second half off a set piece. Parker Daum sent a corner kick into the box, where Cale Lindner finished the opportunity with 30:10 remaining to make it 3-0.
Louisville struck again less than five minutes later. Mayle followed his two first-half goals by setting up Brandon Sanders, who found the back of the net with 25:51 left to push the Leopard advantage to 4-0.
Cale Lindner later added his second goal of the night with 15:26 remaining. Drew Lindner recorded his second assist of the match on the play as Louisville stretched its lead to 5-1.

Leopards Win Third Straight Against Lake
Louisville’s recent turnaround against Lake continued with Saturday’s victory.
Less than two years ago, the Leopards had never defeated the Blue Streaks. Louisville entered its October 3, 2024 meeting with Lake with an 0-11-4 all-time record in the series and had been outscored 32-7 over those first 15 meetings.
Since then, the series has belonged to the Leopards.
Louisville shut out Lake 3-0 at home in 2024 to earn its first victory in series history before recording its first-ever road win against the Blue Streaks, 2-1 in 2025. Saturday’s 5-2 victory extended Louisville’s winning streak against Lake to three straight games.
The Leopards have outscored the Blue Streaks 10-3 during their three-game winning streak after scoring only seven total goals against Lake in the first 15 meetings.
Louisville is now 3-11-4 against Lake all-time, including a 2-6-1 record at home. Saturday’s five goals were the most the Leopards have ever scored against the Blue Streaks, while the seven combined goals also established a new series high. The two teams had never combined for more than four goals in a game previously.
