Lady Leps Take Rough Ride Vs. Kent Roosevelt, Snap Winning Streak

Sarah Jaroszyk scored the only Louisville goal of the game with 2:33 left in the first half, but it would not be enough as the Lady Leopards fell to the Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders 3-1. Monday’s loss at Louisville Leopards Stadium is the first Leopards loss at home all season and it snaps a team record 9 game winning streak.

Jaroszyk’s goal was setup by Jessica Hamsher’s pass to Rachel Baughman on the right side of the net. Baughman took a shot from the steep angle and it richochete off of a defender or two before finding the feet of Jaroszyk. Just right of center in the penalty area, Jaroszyk looped the ball over the goalies head and into the top of the net.

Kent Roosevelt scored three first half goals before Louisville got on the board. The Rough Riders and Leopards played to a stalemate in the second half and thus the Rough Riders improved to 5-4-2 on the year.

The loss drops Louisville to 10-2 on the season, but may give the Lady Leps extra motivation when they play at Minerva Wednesday. The Leopards and Lions are both undefeated in the NBC and the game will likely decide the conference champion.
