Louisville 3, GlenOak 0

Rachel Baughman scored all of Louisville’s goals during the Lady Leopards 3-0 win over the GlenOak Golden Eagles at Bob Cummings Field Saturday afternoon.  Sarah Jaroszyk and Jessica Hamsher also had assists as  Louisville improved to 6-1 on the season.

The Leopards hammered home shot after shot in the first half, but only one dropped into the net.  Louisville took control of the ball after almost every GlenOak goal Beatty's Sports Grey Louisville Athletics T-Shirtkick and thus the vast majority of the game was played on the Eagles half.  Jaroszyk stormed down the right side and delivered a cross pass from right to left over to Baughman who flushed it home to give the Leps the lone goal with 1:10 left in the half.

The game remained locked at 1-0 for the first 20 minutes of the second half.  The Lady Leopards finally added an insurance goal when Baughman found the right side of the net from 19 yards out at the 19:41 mark.  Hamsher snuck a pass through the GlenOak defense and Baughman went left and then spun back right before making it 2-0.  The Sophomore Forward also found the left side of the net with 2:59 left in the game to remove all doubt.

The 3-0 victory improves the Lady Leps to 6-1 on the year, which is their hottest start since 2004.  The 2004 team began the season 6-1 before tying the Golden Eagles 2-2 in the eighth game.  Louisville has now also won five straight games which ties the team record set last season.  Finally, the win is Head Coach Janine Hepler’s 20th victory (20-18-3), which ties her with Amado Sandoval for the second most coaching wins in LHS Girls Soccer History.  A victory over the Lake Center Christian Tigers Monday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium will break these three marks.
