Louisville took a 4-0 lead into the break and then cruised to a 6-1 victory over the crosstown St. Thomas Aquinas Knights Monday night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, the Lady Leopards are now 3-0 on the young season.

Louisville got on the board first via a successful penalty kick by Lizz Stefanik 17 minutes into the contest. Beatty's Sports Leopard Skin Grey HoodieJust 82 seconds later Nicole Thompson made it 2-0 after receiving a beautiful crossfield pass from Sami Keefe. Then, three minutes after that, Rachel Baughman dazzled the Aquinas defense to score in her fifth consecutive contest. Her goal was setup by Devin Kring who made a defensive stop in the Knights own end before delivering the ball to Baughman.

The Lady Leps final goal of the first half came from the speedy Sarah Jaroszyk who was assisted by a textbook Brooke Johnson lead pass down the left sideline.

In the second half, Louisville added two more goals in the first 5:04. Kring broke free for the first goal and Baughman scored her 4th goal of the season minutes later. Jaroszyk provided the assist on Baughman’s goal.

The Lady Leopards shutout the Lady Knights until 2:41 left in the game. Throughout the night Goalie Becca Springman made several saves and Kelly Miller provided her usual great defense. The Leopards now lead the all-time Battle of Louisville 3-2 after taking two straight from the Lady Knights.
