Louisville 1, Hoover 0

The Lady Leopards opened up the season with a 1-0 shutout victory over the host North Canton Hoover Vikings Wednesday evening. Rachel Baughman’s first half goal proved to be the difference in the contest.

Kelly Miller, who played great defense all night long, cleared the ball out of the Leopards own zone. Beatty's Sports Leopard Skin Grey HoodieBaughman then got a touch on the ball around midfield and popped it forward. She then got control of the ball again, fought off several defenders, and kicked it into the left side of the empty net with 12:00 remaining in the first half.

For the final 52 minutes of the contest, Louisville withstood several North Canton threats. Along with Miller, Sarah Jaroszyk and Goalie Becca Springman stopped several Vikings chances on the defensive end. The Lady Leopards have now shutout the Lady Vikings for 2 Hours and 54 Minutes of playing time over two games (Last Year’s 2-1 Double OT win in the Sectional Championship was the other game.)

Louisville is now 2-6 against Hoover all-time, but have won the last two matches overall.
