The Lady Leps struck early by scoring three runs in each of the first two innings.  Brittany Flanigan walked to begin the bottom of the first before Isla rocketed a pitch that hit the track in right-center.  Cozy then clanked a double off the wall in center that brought home Flanigan.  Back-to-back sacrifice fly outs by Chandler Rice and Annie Woolf sent home the other two base runners to make it 3-0 Louisville at the end of one.

Falcone walked to start the second Louisville batting frame and Carlee Baumgardner ripped a single to left.  Beatty's Sports Spring Sports Logos SoftballFollowing that, Amy Hoover replaced Falcone at second as a courtesy runner.  Isla then blasted another shot to right-center that just missed hitting the top of the fence for a 2-out, 2-run double.  In a deja vu scenario, Cozy followed suit with a line drive to center that rolled all the way to the wall for a double.  Isla scored on the play making it 6-0 Leps.

Later in the fourth, Baumgardner again came through with a big hit to jump start a string of four straight Lady Leopards singles.  Flanigan, Isla, and Cozy followed Baumgardner and Baumgardner & Flanigan each recorded their second runs of the ball game.  Isla, who drove home Baumgardner, came home for the third time in the game off Cozy’s 2-run single.  9-0 Louisville.

Louisville’s game-ending run came in the fifth inning.  Woolf reached base after being hit by a pitch for the countless time this season.  Shelby Swigert and Jordan Monnot then each cracked their second singles of the contest advancing Woolf to third and loading the bases with nobody out.  Falcone then muscled a pitch that nearly left the park for a game-ending Grand Slam.  However, the mission was still accomplished as her sac fly brought home Woolf to put Louisville up 10 and thus ended the contest.

Falcone also won the game in the circle improving to 7-0 this year and 14-0 for her career.  Louisville has a chance to clinch their fourth straight outright NBC title at West Branch Thursday.
