Lady Leopards Down Dukes in Straight Sets, Now 3-0 in NBC

The Louisville Lady Leopards disposed of the Dukes in the first two sets before fending off Marlington in the third set for a 25-9, 25-10, 25-19 victory Tuesday evening at Louisville High School. The win leaves the Lady Leopards 4-1 overall on the year and 3-0 in the NBC.

Maddie Gramoy led the Leopards offensively with 16 points serving, 2 aces, and 18 assists. Kristen Bricker also had several aces during the Lady Leps dominating first set and Megan Stocker was the top hitter with 8 kills. Jordan Monnot, Ashton Ruffing, and Brittany Lowry also dealt several point scoring blows to the Marlington defense.

Defensively the Leps were led by Libero Mackenzie Begue with 9 digs and also Ashton Ruffing 3 blocks (1 solo, 2 assisted).

Marlington made things interesting in the final set by getting within 17-16 of Louisville, but the Lady Leopards scored 8 of the next 9 points to take the game and the match from the Dukes.

The Dukes were led offensively by Allie Carr (5 Points, 5 Aces, 7 Assists) and Marlee Kills (4 Kills). Kills also led Marlington defensively with 2 blocks and Mercedez Wood also had 3 digs. The Dukes fall to 1-3, 1-2 on the year.

Louisville has taken the last 7 meetings against the Dukes overall and 7 out of the last 8 at home against Marlington.
