The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the DI state powerhouse Cleveland James Rhodes Rams 67-48 Saturday Evening as part of the Kosta Koufos Classic at GlenOak High School. With the victory, Louisville is now 12-6 on the year.
Scotty Gronow hit home 5 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points to lead the Leopards. He was named team MVP after the game concluded. Louisville hit 14 field goals from beyond the arch, a team record for three-pointers made in a single game away from home. Collin Chambers made 3 shots from downtown and finished with 16. Colton Jones also recorded 4 three-pointers and scored 14.

The Leopards erupted for 10 three-pointers in the first half in taking a 23-17 lead at the end of the first and a 42-35 lead at the half. The Louisville defense shutdown Cleveland Rhodes in the second half holding them to single digits and outscoring them in all four quarters. The Leopards doubled up the Rams 12-6 in the third quarter and outscored them 13-7 in the final quarter to earn the convincing 19-point victory.
Cleveland Rhodes (13-3) was led by Marion Landingham who made 4 three-pointers and scored a team-high 14 points. Jamal Sumlin also hit double digits with 11 and Keyshawn Hall tacked on 8.
This was the first ever meeting between the two teams. Louisville is now 1-1 while participating at the Kosta Koufos Classic, the Leopards fell to host GlenOak 73-55 in their only other matchup in the showcase last season.
