Jackson Hits Walk-Off, Homers Twice as Softball Downs Chippewa

The Louisville Leopards mercied the visiting Chippewa Chipps 10-0 in 5 innings Saturday Afternoon at LHS. With the victory, Louisville improves to an even 2-2 on the season.
Grace Jackson batted 3 for 5 with a walk-off double, a pair of home runs, and 6 RBIs to lead the Leopards. Jackson hit a line drive 3-run shot over the wall in left in the first inning to give Louisville an early advantage. Later on in the fourth inning, Jackson unloaded on a 2-0 pitch that cleared the fence in left-center, parking lot, and landed in the street behind.
Jackson nearly hit her third home run of the contest on the final pitch of the game. She launched a pitch to left-center that landing on the warning track for a walk-off double scoring Cassidy Glyder from third for the game-clinching run.
Three other Louisville players had RBIs in the contest. In back-to-back fourth inning at-bats, Savannah Miner singled home Emily Cantley and Aliyah English then doubled in Miner. Teagan Rice also drove in Leandra Givens in the seventh inning.
In the circle, Morgan Harris (1-1) threw a complete game shutout at pitcher for the Leopards. She pitched all 5 innings, gave up just 3 hits, and struck out 9.
This was the first ever meeting between the two schools on the diamond.
