Jackson Hits Walk-Off, Cantley Fans 10 as Softball Grounds Aviators

Louisville 10, Alliance 0, 5 Innings
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team blanked the visiting Alliance Aviators 10-0 in 5 innings Tuesday Evening at the Diamond of Dreams. With the victory, Louisville improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Grace Jackson batted 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, 3 RBIs, 3 runs scored, and a Walk-Off Solo Homer in the top of the fifth to lead the Leopards. The blast was Jackson’s third of the season and this was her second straight game with a walk-off hit. Peyton McKeever also batted 2-for-4 with a 2-run single and a 2-run double for Louisville.
In the circle, Sarah Cantley (1-1) pitched a complete game 1-hit shutout and struck out 10 in her NBC debut. The Aviators only hit came off the bat of ninth hitter Knapp. The ball landed in no-man’s land between two Leopard defenders and was the only thing that stopped Cantley from recording a perfect game.
Aliyah English and Kaycee Ollis had 2 hits each as Louisville pounded out 12 hits as a team. Emily Cantley also drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Leopards.
With the victory, Louisville has now defeated Alliance in 13 straight meetings. The Lady Leopards lead the all-time series 21-5 over the Aviators, which includes a 12-2 mark at home. The win was also career win number 150 for Louisville Head Coach Chet Givens. He is now 150-45 (.769) in his 8th year at the helm of the Lady Leopards program.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Marlington to take on the Dukes on Thursday, April 7 at 5:00 PM.
