Louisville Takes 6th at Hoover Tournament – Speech & Debate

Last weekend, the Louisville High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the Hoover Tournament earning 6th place in team sweepstakes!
In Declamation, Tayleigh Folden placed 3rd, earning her 7th bid to state tournament and Taryn Allgood placed 7th, earning her 4th state bid. In Original Oratory, Jessie Stewart placed 4th, earning her 4th state bid, and Kenna Gnes placed 5th, earning her 1st state bid and receiving top novice.
In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Noah Capo placed 4th, earning his 4th state bid, and Maya Baxter maintained a winning record. Ally Ivey placed 7th in Dramatic Interpretation, earning her 1st state bid. Kenna Dunlap placed 8th in Program Oral Interpretation, earning her 3rd state bid.
Morgan Callan and Winnie Davis were the 2nd top novices in Duo Interpretation. Isaiah Gray had top Congress Speeches of the day Also receiving top ranks were Chloe Millard and Alex Mohr.
Congratulations to Jessie Stewart, Noah Capo, and Taryn Allgood for all pre-qualifying last weekend to the state tournament by earning their 4th bids! The team competes this weekend at Carrollton!
