Girls Soccer Surges in 2nd Half to Down Massillon

The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team defeated the visiting Massillon Tigers 6-2 Monday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the win, Louisville improves to 7-1 at the midway point of the regular season.
Bri Horton scored a pair of goals and also had an assist to lead the Leopards. Louisville and Massillon were deadlocked at the break 2-2 before the Leopards ripped off four second half goals.
Horton started the onslaught by heading home a goal off a corner kick from Lindsey Bradley. A little over 11 minutes later, she also tapped home a goal off her own rebound to make it 4-2 Louisville.
Horton then setup the Leopards third goal of the half by delivering an assist to Hannah Baughman who made it 5-2 with 11 minutes left to play. Maddie Berkebile also added another insurance goal via a pass from Megan Hampe with 5:22 left to play. This score was especially sweet as Berkebile took a vicious hit just a few minutes before.
The Tigers took the first two leads of the ball game in the opening half. Katie Skyllas broke the ice with the opening score and Aubrey Lightfoot gave Massillon a 2-1 lead in the 30th minute.

The Leopards answered each Tigers goal to knot the game at the break 2-2. Jenny Hamsher got Louisville on the board with 24:57 left in the first half via an assist from Lia Meckel. Kayla Gibson also scored unassisted with 1:13 to go before the break.
With the win, the Leopards are now 11-0 against the Tigers all-time which includes a 6-0 record at home. Louisville is now 4-1 in non-conference play this season.
