Girls Soccer: Seniors Shine in Finale Vs. South
Louisville 7, Canton South 0
The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Soccer team blanked the visiting Canton South Wildcats 7-0 on Senior Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium Wednesday. With the win, Louisville finishes the regular season with a 7-7-2 overall record and a final record of 5-1-1 in the NBC.
Seniors Devin Kring and Lizzy Mont each scored a pair of goals to lead the Leopards. For Mont, her second goal at the 31:37 of the second half was the 40th of her career.
Both Seniors had a chance at a Hat Trick. A beautiful save by the Canton South goalie stopped a Kring rocket from going into the top of the net and an offsides call erased what would have been Mont’s first goal seven minutes in.
Selah Brown and Brianna Horton provided the assists on Mont’s two scores. Hannah Baughman, Megan Chatelain, and Brianna Horton also found the net unassisted for Louisville.
The Wildcats were held scoreless throughout the entire contest and had few if any shots on goal. Leopards Senior Goalie Allie Bourne played the first 50 minutes in goal and Mackenzie Brown finished off the remaining minutes to complete the shutout. Louisville has now shutout Canton South in their last three meetings and now leads the all-time series 9-0. The Leopards have outscored the Wildcats 58-3 all-time.
Prior to the game, Louisville honored their four Seniors Allie Bourne, Devin Kring, Lizzy Mont, and Nicole Thompson. Leopard Nation would like to personally thank these three Seniors for all the great memories and their hard work & dedication towards the Lady Leopards Soccer Program!
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Austintown Fitch to take on the Falcons in the DI Austintown Sectional Semifinals on Monday, October 19 at 7:00 PM.
