Girls Lacrosse Ices Irish 9-1 in Team’s 1st Home Game
Louisville 9, St. Vincent-St. Mary 1
The Louisville Lady Leopards Lacrosse Team was dominant in their first home game in team history on 
a blistery cold night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. Louisville defeated the visiting Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Irish 9-1 Tuesday to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Emily Hollified and Alexa Oberster each recorded Hat Tricks to lead the Leopards. Emily Shea also scored the first two goals of the contest and Mandy Wesely also found the net for Louisville.
The Leopards shutout the Fighting Irish through the first 38:54 of the contest. They took a 5-0 lead into the half and scored the first 7 goals of the game. Goalie Celia Keefe finished with 5 saves, Hollifield caused 3 turnovers, and Lindsey Pugh also caused 2 turnovers to lead the defense.
Oberster had 2 assists on offense, helped Louisville control 8 of 11 draws, and fielded a team-high 3 ground balls. Hollifield, Kloe Mercorelli, and Pugh also scooped 2 ground balls a piece.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the GlenOak Golden Eagles on Wednesday, April 6.
