Girls Golf Wins Inaugural NBC Crown

Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Golf Wins NBC

In just their second year, Head Coach Zack McCoy and the Girls Golf Team captured the inaugural NBC Title by winning the NBC Tournament Thursday at Great Trails Golf Course in Minerva.

Both Salem and Louisville finished tied with a 6-2 record in the regular season NBC standings.  Each regular season win is worth 1 point, while winning the tournament was worth 5, second place 4, and so on.  Every NBC team was still in the hunt to win the conference going into the tournament, except 0-8 Carrollton.

Katie Warga shot an 88, Regina McVey shot a 95, Adrienne Metzger shot a 102, and Michaela Lee shot a 107.  After the final results were tallied, the Lady Leps squeaked by Salem 392-397 to capture the league title.

For such a young program it shows how hard Coach McCoy and the girls have worked all season long and this NBC Title is just one of the many reaped benefits.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leps will try to capture another league title on Thursday, September 26 when they compete in the Tri-County League Title at 9:00 AM at Pleasant View Golf Course.
