Girls Golf Clipped By Lake, but Downs Marlington
Lake 187, Louisville 189, Marlington 204
The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Girls Golf Team fell to the Lake Blue Streaks 187-189, but earned a conference win over the Marlington Dukes 189-204 in a Tri-Match at Skyland Pines Golf Club Tuesday. With the split, Louisville is now 3-2 overall and remains a perfect 3-0 in NBC play.
Abby Beaver and Sierra Townsend each shot a team-best 43 to lead the Lady Leopards. Gabby Spehar returned with a tally of 51 and Bailey Spring carded a 52.
The winning Blue Streaks were led by Paige Gmerek who shot a match low 42. Emily Popio 43, Emma McNamara 50, and Jayne Terrik 52 rounded out the scoring for Lake. The Lady Streaks have now defeated the Lady Leopards in 3 of the past 4 seasons to even the all-time series at 3-3 overall and 2-2 at Skyland Pines.
The Dukes (1-5, 1-3) were led by Hannah Canale who finished with a team best score of 45. Also scoring for Marlington were Kyla Kackley 47, Devyn Conner 54, and Rosie Montesano 58. The Lady Leopards have defeated the Lady Dukes in 7 consecutive meetings. Louisville now leads the all-time series 8-1, which includes a 5-0 record at home.
