Girls Freshman Basketball Wins Overtime Thriller Vs. Jackson

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Freshman Basketball earned a thrilling 51-49 overtime victory over the visiting Jackson Polar Bears at Louisville Elementary School Wednesday Evening. With the win, Louisville improves to 3-1 on the season.
Teagan Rice scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Leopards. Morgan Cole also dropped in 13 and Emily Fresenko added 10 for Louisville.
The Leopards trailed the Polar Bears 28-20 at the break, but opened the second half on a 10-0 run to jump ahead 30-28 with 4:41 left in the third. Jackson knotted the game back up at 34-34 as the third period buzzer sounded.
Louisville pulled ahead in the fourth quarter 45-37, but Jackson stormed back with an 8-0 run over the final 2:17 to send the game to overtime. In the extra period, the Leopards edged the Polar Bears 6-4 to take the contest.
Jackson was led by Maddie Theiss who hit 4 three-pointers and scored a game-high 16 points. Kegan Schuler also scored 11 and Sophia Bernard reached double digits with 10.
