The Lady Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team nipped the host Canton South Wildcats 49-46 Beatty's Louisville Leopards Pink Shirt Winter 2015Wednesday Night at Charles “Red” Ash Gymnasium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 8-1 overall and stays an undefeated 6-0 in the NBC.

Abby Beaver scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Leopards. Sarah Lairson also added 9 and Sabryna Benzel tacked on 8 for Louisville.

The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 15-10 lead at the end of the first eight minutes, but the Leopards rallied back in the second to take a 26-25 lead into the locker room. Louisville outscored Canton South 15-6 in the third quarter to take a commanding 41-31 lead and then withstood a Wildcat rally to take the contest.

Canton South (5-4, 2-4) was led by Shannon Moore and Kamryn Tharp who scored a team-high 12 Order Leopard Nation Highlight Videopoints each. Megan Mitchell also broke double digits with 10.

The Leopards have now won 10 of their last 11 meetings against the Wildcats. Louisville now leads the all-time series 61-24, which includes a 27-13 mark at Canton South.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Carrollton Warriors on Saturday, January 2. JV will begin at 12:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 1:30 PM.

The Lady Leopards JV Squad routed the host Wildcats 68-20 at Charles “Red” Ash Order Leopard Nation Highlight VideoGymnasium Wednesday Evening. With the win, Louisville is now 8-1 overall and 6-0 against conference foes.

Alexis Beaver matched Canton South’s team total with game-high 20 points and Hanna Lautzenheiser also poured in 19 to lead the Leopards. Morgan Cole and Emily Shea also added 8 each for Louisville.

The Leopards led 17-3 after one, went ahead 36-7 at the break, and built a 52-10 lead at the end of the third. The Wildcats were led by Hayley Miller, Grace Nichols, and Sharon Williams who scored 4 points each.
