Girls Basketball Falls Victim to Carrollton Comeback

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Basketball team fell to the host Carrollton Warriors 52-45 Wednesday Evening at Bell-Herron Middle School. With the loss, Louisville drops to an even 9-9 overall and 7-5 in conference play.

Sarah Lairson led the Lady Leopards with a game-high 16 points and 5 rebounds. Abby Beaver also Beatty's Sports Leopard Winter Hat 1 copybroke double figures with 10 and Sabryna Benzel added 7 for Louisville.

The Leopards hung with the second place Warriors (13-6, 10-2) throughout the entire contest. Louisville led 11-10 after the first quarter and 28-24 at the half. Carrollton took the lead back by outscoring the Lady Leps 13-7 in the third quarter. The Warriors also scored at least the final six points of the game to take the contest.

Carrollton was led by Ali Poole who scored a team-high 15 points. Savana Lowery also scored 13, Kelsey Voll dropped in 11, and Rachel Devine dished out a game-high 4 assists.

The Lady Leopards have now lost five consecutive meetings with the Lady Warriors. Louisville still leads the all-time series 34-21 and still holds a 15-12 edge at Carrollton.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Alliance Aviators on Saturday, February 7. JV will begin at 12:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 1:30 PM.
