Girls Basketball Bounces Back At Canfield
Louisville 57, Canfield 30
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the host Canfield Cardinals 57-30 at Canfield High School Wednesday Evening. With the victory, Louisville improves to 3-2 on the year.
Abby Beaver led the Leopards scoring attack with a game-high 19 points. Alexa Oberster also reached double digits with 11 points and both Ellie Jackson & Sarah Lairson added 8 points each for Louisville.
The Leopards defense caged the Cardinals all night long in holding them to a 36% (11 for 30) performance from the floor and a 10% (1 for 10) night from beyond the arch. Louisville also recorded 16 steals on the defensive end. Lairson finished with a team-high 5 and Jackson added 4.

The Leopards also won the battle on the boards 29-21. Lairson also led the team in that department with 6 rebounds, while Erin Hahn, Alexa Oberster, and Danielle Walter each finished with 5.
The Cardinals were led by Serena Sammarone who tallied a team-high 11 points. Jill Baker also scored 9 and Britt Coonce scored 4.
The victory is the Lady Leopards first in their history at Canfield as they are now 1-2 at CHS. Louisville still trails the all-time series 3-5. The 27-point margin of victory is also the Leopards largest ever against the Cardinals eclipsing their 58-47 victory back on November 30, 2011.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the West Branch Warriors on Saturday, December 10. JV will play at 2:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 3:30 PM.
