Louisville Succumbs to Findlay Second Half Rally 2-1 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team was edged by the visiting Findlay Trojans 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville falls to 0-2 to start the 2025 campaign.
Kruse Gives Leopards 1st Half Advantage
The Leopards struck first midway through the opening half. Gianna Kruse found the back of the net off an assist from Alyssa Schillig to give Louisville a 1-0 advantage with 23:17 remaining before halftime, a lead they would take into the break.
Hawkins and Gayhart Lead Trojan Rally
The Trojans answered in the second half with a pair of goals to take control of the match. Elynn Hawkins tied the game at 1-1 with 17:11 remaining, and Olivia Gayhart netted the game-winner with just 5:56 to play.
Findlay’s Ella Kreyger and Elleson Rader recorded assists on the goals, with Rader also leading the Trojan defense with a strong second half that included 14 intercepts.
The Lady Trojans move to 2-0 with the victory.
Louisville Vs. Findlay Girls Soccer Series
The match marked just the second all-time meeting between the two programs. Louisville defeated Findlay 4-2 last season on the road, but the Trojans returned the favor this year to even the all-time series at 1-1.
