Leopards Drop Close Match with Tornadoes 3-2 – Girls Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team fell to the visiting Dover Tornadoes 3-2 Monday Evening at LHS. With the loss, Louisville drops to 4-6 on the season.
The Leopards won the top two singles matches in straight sets. Rachel Kibler defeated Courtney Rose 6-2, 6-1 in #1 singles. Sherilynn Mullett was equally impressive in a 6-2, 6-2 #2 singles win over Emili Edwards.
The Tornadoes won all of the other matches in straight sets as well. Lainey Dunn was the lone Dover singles winner defeating Jade Thomas 6-2, 6-3 in #3 singles. Both Twister doubles teams won hard fought matches over the Louisville competition. Kaleigh McCutcheon & Maisie Dugger paired up to defeat the Leopard tandem of Bailey Menegay & Katie Yarnall in #1 doubles. The Dover team of Jenna Zeigler & Hannah Graziani also earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Ashley Dadisman & Kora Woolfe in #2 doubles.
This is the Tornadoes first win over the Leopards since 1992 when both teams were still in the NBC. Louisville still leads the all-time series 11-4 and this was the first meeting between the two schools since the 2004 season.
