Lady Leopards Top Tornadoes at Home 41-27 – Girls Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting Dover Tornadoes 41-27 Saturday afternoon at Louisville High School. With their second straight victory, Louisville improves to 8-10 on the season.

Baker Scores Game-High 15 to Lead Leopards
Maggie Baker hit a pair of three-pointers and scored 13 of her game-high 15 points in the first half to lead the Lady Leopards. Louisville led 11-10 after the first quarter and extended their lead by doubling up Dover 8-4 in the second quarter, to take a 19-14 advantage into the break.
Ella Tillett also scored all 8 of her points in the first three quarters. Her two field goals in the third quarter helped the Leopards extend their lead to 27-21 heading into the final stanza.
Makayla Tanner scored all 7 of her points in the fourth quarter, including converting all four of her free throw attempts from the line. Tanner and Mabel Kiko each made a three-pointer as Louisville outscored Dover 14-6 in the fourth quarter to earn a double-digit victory.
Mikayla Salmons added 6 points, while Ava Seitz finished with 2. Each scored a basket in the final period.
Minnis Scores Team-High 11 to Lead Tornadoes
Maddie Minnis was the only player to score in every quarter and finished with a team-high 11 points to lead the Crimson Tornadoes. Ansley Bollon went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and scored 8. Olivia McCue made Dover’s lone three-pointer and added 6. Savannah Blind also added a second-quarter basket.
The Lady Tornadoes have now dropped 12 of their last 14 games. Dover is now 5-14 on the year.
Louisville Wins Sixth Straight Against Dover
The Lady Leopards have now defeated the Crimson Tornadoes in 6 consecutive meetings dating back to 2005, including three straight wins at home in the series. Louisville is now 11-6 against Dover all-time, which includes a 6-3 record in games played at Louisville High School.
After starting 0-3 at home this season, the Lady Leopards are now 4-5 when playing at LHS.
