Louisville Goes Undefeated In Tri-Match

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball team went 2-0 at their home-opening tri-match Saturday, defeating both the Claymont Mustangs and Massillon Tigers at Louisville High School. With the victories, the Leopards improve to 3-1 on the young season.

Louisville 25-25, Claymont 17-21
Louisville opened the morning with a straight-set victory over the Claymont Mustangs 25-17, 25-21.
The front line was anchored by Kloey Rukavina, who tallied 7 kills and 3 blocks, while Mabel Kiko added 6 kills and 3 blocks to the attack. In the back row, Emma Kroah sparked the defense with 11 digs and also contributed 3 aces from the service line to help fuel the victory.
Louisville 25-24-25, Massillon 10-26-7
In their second match of the day, the Leopards outlasted the Massillon Tigers in a hard-fought three-set battle, winning 25-10, 24-26, 25-7. After cruising to a dominant first-set victory, Louisville fell just short in a tight second frame before storming back with an overwhelming performance in the deciding set.
Dakota Gross led the way with 11 kills, 4 digs, a block, and an ace to spark the offense. Mabel Kiko continued her steady play at the net with 8 kills and 3 blocks, while Taylor McCully added 8 kills, 5 digs, 2 blocks, and an ace.
Emma Kroah was once again a defensive anchor with 9 digs and proved unstoppable at the service line, recording 18 service points and 3 aces. Setting up the attack was Addie Johnston, who dished out 12 assists and added 2 blocks to round out the Leopards’ balanced effort.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the Perry Panthers on Thursday, September 4. JV and Freshman will play at 5:30 and Varsity will follow at 7:00 PM from Perry High School.
