Another free position goal by junior Grace Darone put the Hilltoppers ahead 2-1. Then freshman Payton Platz connected with junior Stella Parrish to give Chardon a 3-1 cushion.

Platz would also find the back of the net twice to help the Hilltoppers build a 5-2 lead. She shot from the center out of free position for her first score. Later, freshman Mia Goodwin delivered a pass to Platz, who was cutting in from the left side of the net. She flushed it home for another CHS goal.

Spehar Scores Twice in Opening Half

Earlier, junior Kalli Spehar weaved her way to the net to get LHS within 3-2.

After the aforementioned pair of goals by the Hilltoppers, the Leopards looked to strike again. Spehar controlled the ball at the top of the arch. She then fired a pass to junior Kylee Murphy who was cutting in front of the net from the right side. The pass missed its mark and found the back of the net instead for Spehar’s second goal of the game.

Louisville went into the break down 5-3.

Parrish Notches Hat Trick for Hilltoppers

Parrish opened the second half with a pair of goals to give Chardon its largest lead of the game at 7-3. Her second score of the contest was a free position goal. Then out of another free position play, Darone fired a quick pass across the zone to Parrish who netted it home for a hat trick score.
