Lady Leopards Claw Wildcats – Softball
Louisville 9, Canton South 1
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team used a 7-run third inning to propel them past the visiting Canton South Wildcats 9-1 at the Diamond of 
Dreams Thursday Evening. With the win, Louisville improves to 7-1 overall and 5-0 against NBC foes.
Alex Fankhauser went 2-for 3 with a 3-run homer in the third to lead the Leopards. Lexi Zavarelle also batted 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored for Louisville. Sydney McKeever went 3-for-4 at the plate, and both Riley Bobo and Teagan Rice drove in runs as well.
In the circle, Sarah Cantley pitched a complete game, gave up no earned runs on 5 hits, and struck out 9 to earn the victory for the Leopards. She is now 3-1 on the season with three of those decisions coming in the past three days. Cantley also finished 3-for-4 at the plate on offense.

The Wildcats only run came in the top of the fifth. C Cooke reached on an error, advanced to second after a walk, and then scored after back-to-back 
Canton South groundouts. A Faiello was credited with the RBI on the unearned run. Louisville had previously been outscoring NBC opponents 55-0 for the season and had scored 61 unanswered runs in league play dating back to last year.
With the win, The Leopards have now downed the Wildcats in 17 straight meeting including the last 9 played at Louisville. The Lady Leopards now lead the all-time series 47-20.
