Boys Tennis Sweeps Wildcats to Clinch 5th Straight NBC Title

The Louisville Leopards Boys Tennis team swept the visiting Canton South Wildcats in a rare Beatty's Sports Hat Louisville Leopards L LetterDoubleheader Tuesday Evening at LHS. Louisville won both matches by the count of 4-1 to improve to 14-3 overall and clinch the NBC Outright with an 8-0 league mark.

Ryan Richards was flawless in #2 Singles for the Leopards winning both of his matches 6-0, 6-0. In #1 Singles, Jake Pukys improved on his 6-1, 6-0 victory in the first match with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win in the second match of the twin bill.

In Doubles action, the #1 Singles Team of Alex Hall & Kyle Robinson won 6-0, 6-1 in the first match and 6-2, 6-1 in the second match. The #2 Doubles Team of Asa Herron & Zach Eddins took the first match 6-1, 6-4. The second match featured a lineup swap as Herron teamed up with Spencer Hall to earn a 6-0, 6-1 victory in #2 Doubles for the latter match.

The Wildcats Dakotah Miller took #3 Singles in both matches to score the only Canton South points. With the wins, the Leopards have now won 10 straight matches against the Wildcats. Louisville now leads the all-time series 54-14.

The Leopards have now won 5 straight NBC Championships with the last 4 being Outright Titles. Louisville has won 12 conference titles in the 15 seasons that the Northeastern Buckeye Conference has carried it as a sport. No other school has won the NBC more than once. Louisville 3, Avon Lake 2

Louisville also journeyed to Avon Lake Wednesday and came back with a 3-2 victory over the Shoreman. With the win, Louisville is now 15-3 on the season.

Jake Pukys set the tone by winning in #1 Singles a perfect 6-0, 6-0. Other Leopard winners included Ryan Richards in #2 Singles by the tally of 6-4, 6-4 and the #2 Doubles Team of Asa Herron & Zach Eddins who rallied back to win a wild 1-6, 6-0, 7-5 match.
