Boys Soccer Wins At Alliance For 1st Time Since 2004
Louisville 2, Alliance 1
The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team opened NBC play by doubling up the host Alliance Aviators 2-1 at Rockhill Soccer Field Tuesday. With their first win of the year the Leopards improve to 1-3 overall and are now 1-0 in conference play.
Alex Stefanik broke a 1-1 tie by netting a goal via a pass from Bailey Adams with 12:34 left in the game. The score proved to be the deciding factor in a back-and-forth affair.
After a scoreless first half, Adams scored a goal of his own to give Louisville a 1-0 advantage. The Aviators (1-3, 0-1) tied the game soon after before the Leopards pulled ahead for good at the end.
This is the first time Louisville has won at Alliance since an 8-4 victory back on August 28, 2004. This also snaps a span of 5 consecutive losses at Rockhill. The Leopards have now defeated the Aviators in 3 of their last 4 meetings, but still trail the all-time series 4-10-1 which includes a 2-5-1 mark at Alliance.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Perry Panthers on Saturday, September 5. JV will begin at 1:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 3:00 PM.
