Boys Soccer Shuts Out Salem, Closes in on 1st NBC Title

The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team blanked the host Salem Quakers 3-0 Tuesday Night at Reilly Stadium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 8-3-2 overall and stays undefeated in the NBC at 5-0-1.
Bailey Adams scored a goal and recorded a pair of assists to lead the Leopards. Adams setup other goal scorers in Kyle Mayle and Alex Stefanik during the contest. Stefanik also recorded the assist on Adams lone goal.

Neither team scored through the first 36 minutes of play and neither team scored during the final 37 minutes of the game. Adams and Mayle scored their goals just before the break and Stefanik added to their cushion less than 3 minutes into the second half.
Louisville led in shots 14-8 and doubled up Salem in corner kicks 2-1. Jarrett Zwick picked up the shutout in goal for the Leopards. The Quakers fall to 8-4-2 overall and 3-3 in the NBC with the loss.
The victory is Louisville’s first at Salem in their history. The Leopards have won 3 of their last 4 matches against the Quakers to even the head-to-head series overall at 3-3.
The win was also Head Coach John Henkel’s 99th Career victory. He will try to hit the century mark in win column this week as Louisville hosts Archbishop Hoban Thursday and travels to Massillon for a makeup game on Saturday. The Leopards will return home for Senior Night next Tuesday looking to clinch the NBC for the first time in their 17 year history against Canton South.
