Boys Cross Country Wins Youngstown Regional, Headed to State!

Louisville Leopards Boys Cross Country 2015 DI Youngstown Regional Champions

Louisville – 71 (1st Out of 16)

The Louisville Leopards Boys Cross Country continued their season of dominance by winning the DI Beatty's White JacketYoungstown Regional Meet Saturday at Boardman High School. The Leopards finished with 71 total places, which put them 11 places ahead of second place Solon (82) and 14 places ahead of third place Hudson (85) in the final team standings.

Noah Chaplik (16:05.52) led the Leopards with a 5th place finish and Nick Chaplik (16:06.57) crossed the finish line just behind him in 6th place. Also scoring for Louisville were Zach Fresenko (15th), Noah Murray (27th), and Ben Tornow (37th).

This is the second time in team history that the Leopards have won a Regional Title. Their only other Regional Championship came in 2010 the year they won state. Comparatively, this year’s teams had a lower place score of 71 compared to the 2010 team who finished with 77 total places at the Regional Meet.

Louisville has now qualified as a team for State 7 times. They will compete at the DI State Meet held at National Trail Raceway on Saturday, November 7 looking for their second State Championship.
