Boys Basketball Tames Lions 65-37
Louisville 65, Minerva 37
The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball team mauled the host Minerva Lions 65-37 Tuesday Night at Minerva High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 14-4 overall and 9-3 in the NBC.
Drew Noble scored a game-high 27 points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds to lead the Leopards. Chris Libertore also dropped home 18 points, Brody Hahn scored 5 points & had 3 steals, and Jake Pukys finished with 5 points & a game-high 6 assists.
Louisville dominated the stat sheet. They out-rebounded Minerva 33-17, which included a 10-3 advantage on the offensive glass. The Leopards also shot 52% (27 of 52) from the floor, while holding the Lions to a 32% (14 of 44) night from the field. On defense, Louisville recorded 11 steals, had 3 blocks, and forced 16 Minerva turnovers.
The Lions (4-16, 1-11) were led by Ethan Hall who hit 4 of their 7 three-pointers to finish with a team-high 15 points. Adam Gross also scored 7 points and Connor Wright finished with 6 points & 3 assists for Minerva.
With the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Lions in 13 of their past 14 meetings overall. Louisville now leads the all-time series 88-68.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Canton South Wildcats on Friday, February 5. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
