Boys Basketball Off to 4-0 Start for 1st Time Since 2006

The Louisville Leopards surged in the second half to defeat the visiting Salem Quakers 81-66 Friday Evening at LHS. With the victory, Louisville is now 4-0 overall and alone in first place at 3-0 in NBC play.

Drew Noble led the Leopards with a game-high 28 points and a game-high 7 rebounds. Chris Libertore Beatty's Sports I love Footballalso had 14 points, dished out a game-high 7 assists, and grabbed 6 boards.

Louisville led by a single point at halftime, but outscored Salem 20-9 in the third quarter and 25-22 in the fourth quarter to take the contest. Jake Adams and Joe Crank each scored double figures as well with 11 and 10 points respectively. In addition, Jake Pukys  tallied 6 assists for the game.

The Quakers (3-1, 1-1) were led by D.J. Pullie who had team-highs of 27 points and 6 assists. Trey Toothman also dropped in 24 points and added 4 assists.

The 4-0 start by the Leopards is their best since the 2006-07 season when they began the year with five straight victories. Their 318 points scored (79.5 avg.) is the most scored ever by a Louisville team through the first four games of the season eclipsing the 1976-77 team’s mark of 299 (74.8 avg.).

With the victory, Head Coach Tom Siegfried (74-82) passed John Morgan (73-84) for fourth most wins by a coach in Louisville Leopards Basketball History. Louisville is now 4-3 against Salem since the Quakers joined the Northeastern Buckeye Conference and this includes holding a 3-1 mark against them at home.
