Boys Basketball In Elite Company After Win at Minerva
Louisville 69, Minerva 45
The Louisville Leopards rolled to a 69-45 win over the host Minerva Lions in Boys Basketball action Tuesday Evening. With the victory, the Leopards become just the fifth Louisville Boys Basketball team since 1930 to begin a season with seven consecutive victories. They are now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the NBC.
The “Two Towers” led the way for the Leopards. Drew Noble scored a game-high 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Blake Hoover dropped in 14 points and snagged a game-high 13 boards. Jake Adams and Jake Pukys also tallied 8 points a piece. Setting up these top scorers were Joe Crank, Matt Eddins, and Brody Hahn who dished out 3 assists each.
Louisville was in control the entire way and outscored Minerva (1-7, 0-4) by a count of 41-22 in the second half. The Lions were led by Austin Catlett who scored a team-high 8 points. Joey Gill, Brett Russell, and Connor Wright also added 6 points each for Minerva.
With the victory, Leopards Head Coach Tom Siegfried (77-82) again moves up the Louisville Coaching All-Time Win list. He joins Matt Miglich (77-52) and Wayne Ashbaugh (77-69) for second place and stands only behind Bill Eddins (101-74) for the top spot.
The Leopards have now defeated the Lions 10 out of the last 11 times they have faced off which includes winning 5 out of the last 6 at Minerva. Louisville now leads the all-time series 84-68 dating back to 1926.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders on Friday, January 2. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow at approximately 7:30 PM.
