The Louisville Leopards picked up a huge 50-43 win over the host Lake Blue Streaks Wednesday Evening at Lake High School. With the victory, Louisville concludes the regular season with an overall record of 19-3.

Blake Hoover led the Leopards by scoring a game-high 20 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and recording a Beatty's Sports Leopard Winter Hat 2game-high 4 blocks. Jake Adams also finished with 10 points and Drew Noble had a solid stat line of 9 points, 10 rebounds, and and 2 blocks for Louisville.

The Blue Streaks pulled out to a 16-12 lead at the end of the first, but the Leopards roared back by winning the second quarter 13-8 to take a one point lead at the break. Louisville continued to dominate in the third quarter to extend their advantage to 37-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Bolts struck back by opening up the final period on a 6-0 run to cut their deficit to 37-35. Hoover finally stopped the Leopards drought with a bucket at the 3:53 mark to put Louisville ahead 39-35. Later on, the Leopards were lifted by another big play when Joe Crank hit home a three-pointer in the right corner to extend their lead to 46-39 with 2:19 left.

On the ensuing possession, Lake’s Tyler Myers returned the favor by netting a three from the left corner. Myers would finish with 9 points for the Streaks, while teammate Chandler Vaudrin finished with a team-high 12.

After that make, the Blue Streaks would not score from the field again as the Leopards defense stuffed out the Lake offense. Noble ended two Blue Streak possessions with blocks and Hoover swatted a three-pointer on Lake’s final possession to put an exclamation point on a quality win for Louisville.

The Leopards made just 4 of 10 free throws in the final 37.2 seconds, but it was enough to seal the deal. With the win, Louisville improved to 4-0 in games played on Senior Nights and for the third time this year extended their winning streak to six.

This is the Leopards first win over the Blue Streaks since a 46-43 home victory on January 12, 2010 snapping a four game losing streak in the series. The last Louisville win at Lake was a 54-49 victory back on December 12, 2006. The Leopards trail the all-time series 11-18.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the New Philadelphia Quakers in the DI Copley Sectional Semifinals on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 PM.
