Louisville 7, Carrollton 1

Rachel Baughman scored four goals in leading the Lady Leopards to a 7-1 road victory at Carrollton Wednesday. Baughman now has 66 goals for her career surpassing Carley Adams who previously held the school record for Career Goals.

Adams career mark is estimated at 62 career goals and as a result Baughman’s first goal of the contest set Beatty's Sports Leopard Skin Grey Hoodiethe LHS mark. After receiving a pass from Sami Keefe, Baughman dribbled past a defender and skipped it off the goalie and into the net to give Louisville a 1-0 lead a little more than four minutes into the contest.

Baughman would add three more goals before the contest ended. Her second goal came after another setup pass from Keefe. She blew by the other defenders and kicked the ball from right to left into the corner of the net to make it 3-0 Leopards. Baughman’s final two goals came in the second half via assists from Lizz Stefanik and Jessica Hamsher.

This is the sixth time in team history that a player has scored four or more goals in a single game. Baughman also did it on September 19, 2011 as a Freshman at Canton McKinley. Adams achieved the feat four times at home her Senior year including a record five goal performance at home against Carrollton on October 1, 2008.

Stefanik scored herself in the first half off a corner kick by Sarah Jaroszyk. In fact, Louisville scored 4 of their 7 goals in the first half. Samantha Gronow tapped in the other first half goal off a rebound from a shot by Lizzy Mont. The goal was Gronow’s first of the season.

After a Warriors goal made it 6-1, Mont added the final goal of the contest. Jaroszyk intercepted a Carrollton pass before pushing the ball ahead to Mont. She then speeded past the Warriors defenders, kicked the ball off the fingertips of the goalie, and into the right side of the net.
