BASEBALL: Leopards Get Lost Against Explorers, Fall 16-2

Hudson 16, Louisville 2

The Leopards did enough to make the game go all seven innings, but the Hudson Explorers still dominated Louisville 16-2.

The lone bright spot in the game for the Leps came in the fourth inning.  Chad Neff doubled in Jeremy White to remove the goose egg from the home side of the scoreboard.  Two batters later, Bryan Adams singled home Neff to cut the Explorers lead to 5-2.  Adams finished the day 2-for-3  with a double later on in the seventh, but that was really it for the Leopards offense that only managed five hits in the game.

Hudson scored 16 runs on 13 hits and took advantage of several Louisville errors in the field.  Leopards’ pitching gave up seven walks and the Explorers seemed to find all the gaps in the field, no matter how small.  Five run fifths and sixths put the game way out of reach as the Explorers eventually won 16-2.

Mercifully for the Leopards, game two was called due to the weather.  Louisville will look to rebound against Central Catholic on Monday.
