The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team its second straight 5-4 walk-off victory over the visiting Alliance Aviators in 8 innings Tuesday at West Main Vet Clinic Field. With the win, Louisville evens its record at 11-11 on the season.

Gamechanger Recap

A walk-off single propelled Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23 to a decisive, dramatic victory over Alliance Varsity Aviators, 5-4. The game was tied at four with Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23 batting in the bottom of the eighth when Brooke Haren singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Alliance Varsity Aviators got things started in the first inning. Cameryn Mullaly drove in two when Mullaly homered.

Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23 evened things up at four in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kaitlin Twinem singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Taylor Thompson got the win for Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23. Thompson allowed three hits and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Emma Reese was on the rubber for Alliance Varsity Aviators. The lefthander surrendered five runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out four.

Katie Heath started the game for Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23. The lefty surrendered four runs on seven hits over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking one

Alliance Varsity Aviators mashed two home runs on the day. Mullaly went deep in the first inning. Megan Hippely had a homer in the fourth inning.

Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23 tallied nine hits. Twinem, Kenzi Denzer, and Haren all managed multiple hits for Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23. Denzer and Twinem each collected three hits to lead Louisville Varsity Softball ‘23.

Alliance Varsity Aviators totaled ten hits. Brianna Yoder and Brooklyn Campbell all had multiple hits for Alliance Varsity Aviators.

UP NEXT: The #15 seed Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the #7 seed Archbishop Hoban Knights on Wednesday, May 10 at 5:00 PM in the DI Massillon Sectional Finals.
