Lady Leopards Runaway with Win Vs. Aviators – Softball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team shutout the visiting Alliance Aviators 13-0 in 5 Innings Thursday at the Diamond of Dreams. With the Grove Appliance Alliance Ohio Advictory, Louisville improves to 15-3 overall and 8-1 in the conference.

Leopards Starter Kirsten Wharmby pitched a complete game shutout throwing 5 innings, giving up just 3 hits, and striking out 11. Wharmby is now a perfect 4-0 on the season and has yet to give up an earned run.

At the plate, Alex Fankhauser led Louisville by hitting a perfect 3-for-3 with 3 Doubles, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Kaycee Ollis and Teagan Rice also batted 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored each. Rice had an RBI double and a 2-run triple. Ollis also cracked 2 RBI doubles.

The Leopards had a host of other highlights in their win over the Aviators. Rylee Squire finished with a double and batted in two runs, Sydney Beatty's Sports Blue Shirt Under Armour Spring 2017McKeever batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored, Lexi Zavarelle went 2-for-2 with a triple and a pair of runs scored, and Savannah Miner also drove in a run for Louisville.

With the win, the Leopards have now won 16 consecutive games against the Aviators including the last 9 meetings played at Louisville. The Lady Leopards now lead the all-time series 24-5, which includes a 13-2 record at LHS. Louisville has now shutout Alliance 9 times all-time and won by mercy in their last 6 contests.
