Samantha's Grill AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team used a strong second half to propel past the visiting Alliance Aviators 56-46 Tuesday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 2-0 on the young season.

Dakota Hoffman scored a game-high 14 points and Will Aljancic scored 12 points to lead the Leopards. Both Hoffman and Ajancic hit a pair of three-pointers each. Cory Noble also finished in double figures with 11.

Leopards Surge Past Aviators in Second Half

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdAlliance led at the end of each of the first two quarters 16-13 and 25-23. Louisville took command of the game in the third quarter in piloting their way to a 39-36 lead by the end of the period. Six different Leopards scored from the field in that stanza as they snatched the lead for good.

LHS outscored the Aviators 17-10 in the fourth quarter to earn the double-digit victory. Seven different Louisville players scored in the final period as the Leopards put the game away shooting 9 of 12 from the charity strike in the quarter.

The Aviators were led by Cam Haynes who made a pair of three-pointers and finished with a game-high 14 points. Steve Gales scored 12 points and Brendon Zurbrugg also hit a pair of threes while scoring all 8 of his points in the opening half for Alliance.

The Aviators had won the previous three matchups in the head-to-head series before Tuesday. Louisville’s last victory over Alliance came in a 65-55 win at AHS on December 23, 2016. The Leopards last defeated the Aviators at home 86-72 on February 23, 2015 when they completed their perfect run through the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.

Louisville now holds an 18-45 record all-time against Alliance, according to our records dating back to 1928.
