Louisville Rallies in 2nd Half to Tie Akron Ellet 4-4 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the second half to tie the visiting Akron Ellet Orangemen 4-4 Wednesday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the draw, Louisville is now 2-5-4 on the season. With their fourth tie, the Lady Leopards also match the 2005 Louisville Girls Soccer Team (7-6-4) for the most draws in a single season.
Benson Scores a Pair of Goals to Lead Leopards
Sophomore Matti Benson scored a pair of goals to lead the Lady Leopards. Other goal scorers included seniors Morgan Keelan and Fallon VanZant. Benson and Keelan have now both scored a team leading 6 goals on the year. VanZant’s score was her third goal of the campaign.
Sophomore Ava Kimble and VanZant also tallied 2 assists each for Louisville. VanZant is now second on the team in assists with 5.
Junior goalkeeper Amelia Henderhan finished with 17 saves for LHS on defense.
Wenzel Scores All 4 Goals for Akron Ellet
The Orangemen were led by freshman forward Rachel Wenzel who scored all four of Akron Ellet’s goals.
This was the first ever meeting between Louisville and Akron Ellet in Girls Soccer.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards Girls Soccer Team will next go on the road to take on the North Canton Hoover Vikings on Monday, September 20. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 7:00 PM.
