The Louisville Leopards JV Football Team scored 19 unanswered points in turning a one-score contest into a 40-13 rout of the host Green Bulldogs Saturday morning at Green Memorial Stadium.
With their second straight victory, Louisville is now 6-2 on the season.
Edgein and Youngen Connect for Three Touchdowns
Quarterback Maddux Edgein threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as the Louisville Leopards JV football team defeated the host Green Bulldogs 40-13 Saturday morning at Green Memorial Stadium.
Edgein connected with Ryker Youngen for touchdown passes of 24 and five yards to help Louisville build a 14-7 halftime lead. The Leopards’ first extra-point attempt was blocked, while Edgein ran in a two-point conversion following the other score.
Louisville struck immediately after halftime. On the first play of the third quarter, Edgein found Youngen for a 65-yard touchdown to extend the Leopards’ advantage to 21-7. It was the third touchdown connection of the game between Edgein and Youngen.
Green answered to trim Louisville’s lead to 21-13, but the Leopards scored the final 19 points of the contest.
Pawley Scores a Pair of Touchdowns as Leopards Score Final 19
Edgein delivered another explosive play with an 80-yard touchdown pass to Karter Pawley, stretching the Louisville lead to 28-13 with 3:29 remaining in the third quarter.
Edgein added a one-yard touchdown run with 7:30 left in the fourth before Pawley completed the scoring with a five-yard touchdown run at the 1:40 mark.
Louisville outscored Green 26-6 after halftime, which included holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the fourth quarter. Edgein accounted for the Leopards’ first five touchdowns, while Youngen finished with three touchdown receptions and Pawley scored both through the air and on the ground.
The Leopards JV improved to 6-2 with the victory after winning their second straight.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to take on the GlenOak Golden Eagles on Saturday, October 17. Game time is set for 10:00 AM from Bob Commings Field
