Louisville Doubled Up At Alliance 2-1 – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team fell to the host Alliance Aviators 2-1 Saturday evening at Rockhill Soccer Field. With the loss, Louisville falls to 3-2-1 on the season.
Alliance struck first early in the opening half before Mason Overcasher answered for the Leopards to send the teams into halftime tied at 1-1. The Aviators then scored the lone goal of the second half to secure the victory.
Overcasher Answers Early Alliance Goal
The Aviators wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, striking approximately four minutes into the contest to take an early 1-0 advantage.
Louisville responded later in the first half. Dom Collier set up Overcasher, who found the back of the net to pull the Leopards even at 1-1.
Neither side scored again before the break as the teams entered halftime deadlocked.
Aviators Score Game-Winner in Second Half
Alliance regained the lead after halftime and made the second goal stand for the remainder of the match.
Parker Woods and Ryder Bandy accounted for the two Aviator goals on the evening, while Jackson Braisted recorded an assist. Alliance goalkeeper Chase Patrick also played a key role in protecting the lead, finishing with nine saves.
The Leopards were unable to produce a second equalizer as the Aviators held on for the 2-1 victory.
Alliance Snaps Louisville’s Five-Game Winning Streak in Even Series
Saturday’s result snapped a five-game Louisville winning streak against Alliance.
The Leopards had won each of the previous five meetings from 2020 through 2025, including four shutouts during that stretch. Louisville’s most recent victory came in a 2-1 road win at Rockhill Soccer Field last season.
Alliance’s victory was its first against Louisville since defeating the Leopards 3-2 in 2019.
The result also leaves the all-time series completely even at 12-12-1 through 25 meetings. Louisville is now 6-7-1 when playing at Alliance.
The series has featured several extended runs by both programs. Alliance previously won eight straight meetings from 2006 through 2011, while Louisville has twice put together five-game winning streaks against the Aviators.
